3 METTLACH CHARGERS. Comprising a matching pair of two men smoking pipes, verso of one marked Dec. 80, the other Dec. 81, and with Villeroy & Boch Mettlach mark, diameter of each 17.25 inches (43.8cm). Together with an engraved Mettlach charger depicting the coronation of Charlemagne, verso with impressed Mettlach castle mark and mold number 1048, diameter 15.75 inches (40cm).

ORMOLU DECORATED MARBLE PEDESTAL. Comprising an ornate ormolu-mounted marble pedestal stand, with ormolu feet, square stepped base, square pedestal set with ormolu decorative plaques beneath an overhanging square green marble surface above a gilt bronze decorative support, as shown. LEATHER BOUND DE HUMANI CORPORIS FABRICA. Comprising a very fine leather-bound facsimile edition of Andreas Vesalius’s De Humani Corporis Fabrica (first published 1543, Basel). Folio (42 x 30cm). Illustrated throughout after the celebrated original woodcuts by Jan Stephan van Calcar. Half Morocco over marbled boards, with matching slipcase. A good, clean copy of this large-format reprint, complete with supplement. Published by De Forel, Amsterdam, 1975.

CHINESE CERAMICS GROUP. Comprising three partially glazed vessels, including a jug with lug handles and raised decoration, a large Ming-style incised baluster-form jug with dark brown glaze, and a carved celadon-glazed footed vase as shown. Greatest height 11.25 inches (28.6cm).

Resting on paw feet terminating in foo lion heads, with floral-carved skirt, carved dragon armrests, and the backrest with a high relief carved plaque depicting a Lohan riding a fish emerging from the water and flanked by two other fish carved in high relief.
