LARGE RUSSIAN IMPERIAL PORCELAIN CHARGER. Comprising a large and impressive charger from the Ropsha Service, Imperial Porcelain Factory, St. Petersburg, period of Alexander II. The borders with ciselé anthemia against a blue ground and bordered by beaded and plain gilt band, the center with a gilded version of the Imperial double-headed eagle current circa 1827, when the service was first ordered, i.e., with lowered wings and with a torch and laurel wreath held in its talons, the underside with green Imperial cypher mark of Alexander II. Diameter 17 inches (44cm).
