A SCARCE MEXICAN RETABLO, 19TH C. Comprising an oil on tin retablo depicting LA MANO PODEROSA (The Powerful Hand), or sometimes called The Five Persons. At center, a hand with the stigmata (alluding to St. Francis) bleeding into a chalice below and with a gathering of lambs who drink the blood. At mid-left are implements of the Passion, and above are depicted the "five" persons: St. Anne, the Virgin, the infant Christ, St. Joseph, and St. Joachim. Overall size including frame 17.25 x 13.25 inches (43.8 x 33.7cm).
