A GOOD SINO-TIBETAN GILT BRONZE SHIVA. Comprising a finely cast gilt bronze figure of Nataraja, likely 18th century. Shiva is shown here wearing a skull necklace, holding a variety of Buddhistic attributes, and trampling Apasmara Purusha, being the embodiment of ignorance and human ego, and resting on a double lotus base. The underside with copper cover incised with a vajra. With traces of polychroming and cast in three separate pieces. 15.25 x 8.5 inches (31 x 21.5cm).
