AN EXQUISITE EMBROIDERED CHASUBLE, C. 1725. Comprising a masterfully sewn and embroidered fiddle-back chasuble, likely Mexican and possibly from the workshop of Manuel José de Mena Cárdenas (Mexico, 1711–1752). Rendered in silk satin with silk and metallic-thread embroidery and metallic braid trim, decorated with a profusion of colorful flowers and padded putti, and the top of the verso depicting the infant Christ (El Niño Dios).
