GREAT SIOUX BEADED PICTORIAL BAG, C. 1890. Of traditional form, native tanned hide with lazy-stitch and sinew-sewn pictorial panels on front and back, including a pair of chiefs, one holding a pipe, the other a spear. The other side with American flags and geometric patterns on a predominately white field of seed-sized beads, quill-wrapped drops, and likely replaced hide fringe. Overall length 37 inches.
