LARGE & IMPORTANT JAPANESE CLOISONNÉ VASE, MEIJI. Comprising a large and impressive Japanese cloisonné vase masterfully worked in silver wire and colored cloisonné enamels on a dark blue ground with a profusion of large irises amidst pink grass and other scattered flowers, the slightly flared foot with floral lappets and the flared mouth similarly decorated, Hayashi School, circa 1890. Underside of base with likely the early mark of Hayashi as illustrated. Height 24 inches (61 cm).

JAPANESE SIGNED SILVER ENAMEL BOWL, MEIJI. Comprising a large and impressive silver oval bowl on raised oval ring foot, the sides enameled with blossoming cloisonné flowers on the exterior and interior against a ginbari-jippo ground of woven design. Underside signed Kawaguchi Zo. Height 5.2 inches (13 cm), width 9.9 inches (25 cm).

EXQUISITE JAPANESE CLOISSONE LIDDED POT, MEIJI. The silver body with ribbed sides and each side with heart shaped cartouche. One side enameled with opposing dragons, the other side with opposing phoenixes. The shoulders mounted with square handles and fitted lid with melon finial. Probably a tea caddy with removeable silver insert. Apparently unmarked. Height 4.8 inches (12 cm).

JAPANESE SILVER KODANSU, MEIJI. The silver case overall engraved with fans and set with swivel carrying handle on top. The interior opens to reveal three lacquered drawers and with swivel locking mechanism with maker's mark on underside of base. EXCEPTIONAL JAPANESE BRONZE GROUP, MEIJI PERIOD. Comprising an exceptionally well crafted and highly detailed bronze group depicting two oni wearing animal skin loin cloths in sentoku with engraved details and holding a glass sphere aloft on three hands between them. One demon of shakudo, the other patinated a copper color and each with separately crafted wrist and ankle bangles. Apparently unsigned. Overall height, including sphere, 7.25 inches (18.4 cm).

FINE JAPANESE INLAID LACQUER PLAQUE, MEIJI. Comprising an exquisite lacquered plaque, the outer borders modeled as a bamboo frame surrounding a scene depicting a child with drum and mother holding samurai helmet before a samurai suit of armor and swords in an interior. The head, hands and feet rendered in applied carved ivory and the image in relief utilizing various gilt lacquer techniques. Of the highest quality. Apparently unsigned. Possibly Edo. Overall 12.5 inches x 15.5 inches (32 x 39.5 cm).

SPECTACULAR JAPANESE LACQUER WRITING BOX, MEIJI. Comprising a large and impressive document, or writing box. The rectangular form with tapered sides, banded with elliptical reserves, decorated on three sides with gilt embellished corn and on one side a grasshopper. The overhanging fitted lid with medallion reserve, depicting a spectacular parrot resting on a corn stalk. The interior also lacquered with gilt flecks. The underside artist signed Midorijima Saku. Length 13.5 inches, width 10.25 inches, height 4.25 inches (34.5 x 26 x 11 cm).
