A SET OF FIVE RUSSIAN IMPERIAL GLASS FOOTED ROEMERS, IMPERIAL GLASSWORKS, ST. PETERSBURG, 19TH C.  Comprising a set of five footed roemers, Imperial Glassworks, St. Petersburg, 19th century. Each goblet (roemer) with flared trumpet footed base with spread central knop and large cup engraved with a Cyrillic overlapping EM cypher beneath an Imperial crown, probably for Elizaveta Mikhailovna, and with traces of gilding and the entire surface with gilt and etched banding. Height 5 inches (12.5 cm).

A RUSSIAN ICON OF THE POKROV MOTHER OF GOD, PALEKH, 19TH CENTURY. In this more complex rendering of this popular subject, Christ is shown in the upper left corner delivering a blessing to The Virgin Mary who holds in Her outstretched hand a mantle (Pokrov) symbolically spreading it over those gathered in the church below. Behind Her is a gathering of various saints, all resting atop highly stylized clouds characteristic of Palekh icons. Overall with an abundance of gilt decoration and highlighting and exhibiting a high caliber of painting, also typical of Palekh icons. 13.25 inches x 11.1 inches (33.5 x 28 cm). Restorations.

A RUSSIAN ICON OF THE KAZAN MOTHER GOD, 19TH CENTURY. A finely and fully painted icon dating to the first half of the 19th century and overlaid with an impressive finely crafted bullion embroidered riza or oklad embellished with seed pearls and pastestones and contained in a vintage glazed shadow box frame (kiot). The icon itself measuring 7 inches x 5.5 inches (17.5 x 14 cm) and overall with oklad measuring 10 inches x 8.5 inches (25.5 x 22 cm).

The boarders with repoussé brass basma. 12.25 inches x 11 inches (31 x 28 cm).

A PAIR OF RUSSIAN ICONS, 19TH CENTURY.  Comprising an icon depicting Saint Theodore the Warrior and the female Martyr Saint Ekatirina, Christ delivers a blessing from above, the borders in faux enamel, 12.4 inches x 10.5 inches (31.5 x 27 cm). Together with an icon of the Archangel Michael with six selected Saints including George, Anastasia, Florus, & Larus, Methodiy, and Vasily. The background and borders incised, 12.5 inches x 10 inches (32 x 26 cm).
