A VERY FINE HAND ILLUMINATED ARCHITECTURAL RENDERING OF A MARIAN ALTAR, FRANZ BUSCHMEYER (GERMAN 1873-1952).  Depicting an enthroned Virgin and Child within a trefoil arched overhanging top with colorful adoring angels and below three scenes from the life of the Virgin. Boldly signed upper right, dated 21st December 1922, and with inscription indicating it was a design for a Marian altar in the Parish church, Balve Westphalia, Germany, excellent condition. 17.25 inches x 11.75 inches (44 x 30 cm).

A VERY FINE HAND ILLUMINATED ARCHITECTURAL RENDERING OF AN ALTAR TO THE ARCHANGEL MICHAEL, FRANZ BUSCHMEYER (GERMAN 1873-1952).  Depicting an impressive colorfully painted altar with arched central niche and spires. At center, the Archangel Michael clad in armor and holding a fiery sword and a scale beneath the image Agnus dei, inscribed on lower margin, signed lower right and dated 1927. 15 inches x 12.25 inches (38 x 31 cm).
