A RUSSIAN ICON OF THE RESURRECTION AND FEAST DAYS, CIRCA 1900. Colorfully painted on a gilt ground, at center Christ descends into Hades and at top stands above his empty tomb. The border is painted with the 12 major Church Feasts and further incised and painted in faux enamel. The verso with inscription dated 1908. 12.25 inches x 10.5 inches (31.5 x 27 cm).
